The Uptown Restaurant - Avenue Suites Hotel

Husband and I, alone, finally. We had a dinner at The Uptown Restaurant which we have got very good impressions about from our friends. They apparently were making really good sushis etc. Also, they had a very beautiful ocean view! It is at the roof of Avenue Suites Hotel near Bar Beach in Lagos.

First, I opened their website. The phone number is wrong! However, I sent them an email and they responded immediately and were very friendly, easily made our reservation.

Secondly, we arrived to the restaurant. While we were booking it, we made it very clear that we want to sit near the windows which have fantastic view. Oh no, they are smoking tables, so can we take to the darkest corner of the restaurant (non-smoking areas are always the worst places in restaurants). We said we are the only ones here so we still want to sit at smoking area.
Right after we sat down, we realized the windows double glazed and you can see nothing as water filled up in between two layers:)

Thirdly, the dims sums were really nice. Spring rolls were average and the sushi was bad. It was too sweet, covered with mayonnaise on top and did I say too sweet!!!!! Our wine was really nice.

Finally, we normally don't care about who pours the wine into our glasses and we can do it happily ourselves. However, there were noone, NOONE else but us in the restaurant, the guy is standing two tables away and still doesn't pay any attention to us at all. The restrooms are maybe 50 maybe more steps up. If you are a bit wobbly then you might end up with broken bones:)

We had a good night. I didn't look at anything related to kids in this place. I don't know if they have high chairs etc. because it is grown-ups area.
